It's a Drag and Drop World

Digital scrapbookers will enjoy this video. We drag and drop everything onto our layouts and if we don't like it, we remove it and start over or drag it around until we find something we do like.

I always say that my Photoshop Elements makes me artistic. The reason why is that I can drag things, resize things, and recolor things until they suddenly look good!

If only I could do this in real life. I'd love to be able to drag and drop my sons' rooms in a few slides to make them clean. What about my groceries? Wouldn't it go so much faster and be a lot less lifting, bending, and moving if we could just drag our groceries into our cabinets?

Where is Matt?

Have you seen these videos? I know I have, but it's been such a long time!

According to his site, a new video will be out next month. Wouldn't you like a job like this? This time he's getting others to dance with him.

Enjoy!

Outtakes

An interview--very interesting

You can see video responses on YouTube. I actually think it would be a fun thing to try to record and share, even if it were just around my own town. Can you imagine me doing this? Giggle

Wyss' Pieces: Geography 101

Oh my, this is so funny!

Mostly, it's just funny because we can all relate. Really, I admit it, I didn't know the answers to these questions. But I've got a good excuse. My sponge of a brain is full and I've had to squeeze out good info to make room for new things to remember. It was funny when I couldn't remember the answer, but immediately recognized that the answer was wrong.

Okay, I admit it though, I mostly like it because my son is hidden in the middle of all this. {smile} Who can find him?

Japanese Television - Oh my!

Why is it I find myself watching Japanese shows a lot lately? It seems the boys have always got it on the t.v. I wish America would do some more reality t.v. like the Japanese shows for physical skill. They are sure interesting to watch.

I previously shared with you the television channel G-4 which my boys have on a lot now and the Ninja Warriors show (and videos) that is always on.

Now G-4 has a new show called Unbeatable Banzuke which is another Japanese physical challenge show that seems to be on a lot when I set down in our living room. Watch some videos on this page. I was watching the hand-walking challenge yesterday.

Youtube has quite a few you can watch.

Try searching for Japanese Tetris or try searching for Human Tetris. My son showed us these over the holidays and we sat one evening having quality family time watching these and laughing together on our computer screen--much better than what was on television. I laugh so hard every time I watch these!

Try searching for Japanese Matrix.

However, some of their games just make you wonder. I didn't find this one too funny, but whoever thought of it and implemented it--well....watch it. If they do not get through the tongue twister, they get a swift whack in the groin. We don't need to bring this one to America.

Who thinks up these games over in Japan?

How crazy is this to run through doors? Pick the right one!

How about these for MXC - Most Extreme Elimination

If you've made it down this far, I'm sure you have been online and watching for quite a while now!

Lenten Sunday

I thought this a wonderful video to watch during Lent.

When Love Came Down

I just love this song and the lyrics sung by Point of Grace.

I found this video--watch how beautifully they dance.

This video is very popular over at Youtube--it makes a very clear statement about being politically correct.

I also hope you enjoy this video from 1984 by Band Aid--a collection of famous singers/bands coming together in the 80's for a good cause. I am showing my age when I say I recognize some of these faces and voices. You can see who is singing which lyrics on the wiki.

Jars of Clay - Oh My God

Have you ever gotten "stuck" on a song that you have to listen to over and over? I am current stuck on this song. The up and down pace of the song, as well as the simple vocal supported by guitar really grabbed me. Then I had to find out what the words said and listened over and over in the van to catch the words.

When he goes through the list of types of people who sin and lumps together the really bad with the not so bad, it reminds me of how we are all sinners in God's eyes, none worse than the other.

The word "saviors" bothered me too, as I always think of there being one savior. However, having words in lyrics that catch your attention make you think. This song is about how all people eventually cry out to God, even those who claim to be Saviors.

Lyrics:
Oh my God, look around this place,
Your fingers reach around the bone,
you set the break and set the tone
For flights of grace, and future falls
In present pain all fools say, "Oh my God."

Oh my God, why are we so afraid?
we make it worse when we don't bleed,
there is no cure for our disease.
Turn a phrase and rise again,
or fake your death and only tell your closest friends,
Oh My God.

Oh my God, can I complain?
You take away my firm belief and graft my soul upon your grief.
Weddings, boats, and alibis,
All drift away, and a mother cries...

Liars and fools, sons and failures, theives will always say..
Lost and found, ailing wanderers, healers always say..
Whores and angels, men with problems, leavers always say..
Broken hearted, separated, orphans always say..
War creators, racial haters, preachers always say..
Distant fathers, fallen warriors, givers always say..
Pilgrim saints, lonely widows, users always say..
Fearful mothers, watchful doubters, Saviors always say..

Sometimes I can not forgive
and these days mercy cuts so deep,
If the world was how it should be, maybe I could get some sleep.
While I lay, I'd dream we're better, scales were gone and faces lighter,
When we wake we hate our brother, we still move to hurt each other,
Sometimes I can close my eyes and all the fear the keeps me silent,
Falls below my heavy breathing, what makes me so badly bent?
We all have a chance to murder, we all have the need for wonder.
We still want to be reminded that the pain is worth the plunder.

Sometimes when I lose my grip, I wonder what to make of heaven,
All the times I thought to reach up, all the times I had to give up.

Babies underneath their beds, in hospitals that cannot treat them.
All the wounds that money causes, all the comforts of cathedrals,
All the cries of thirsty children, this is our inheritance,
All the rage of watching mothers, this is our greatest offense
Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God.

Behind the Song:
"With Oh My God, we wanted to kind of communicate that everybody at some point intersects with God, whether they choose to believe or not, and people all have their reasons for crying out to God. And some of those are really deep, deep doubts. There are times when I wrestle with that now, but growing up I didn’t know the gospel could stand up to the scrutiny. It’s a question that I think needs to be asked. This song has three parts. It starts out being many people’ stories and the third part is my personal story...Why I cry out to God." - Dan Haseltine (Jars Of Clay)

Here is a concert version of the same song.

Children Growing Up

As a Mom of sons on the back half of the teen years (15, 16, and 20), I understood this movie all too well.

Michael W. Smith is a Christian singer and songwriter and I have always loved his music and have several of his albums.

This is the first time I have heard this one. It is perfect for those sentimental sappy moments that I tend to get into.

It is called "How to Say Goodbye." The lyrics are below. I am thinking they may make good inspiration for layouts.

A thank you for the e-mail from Linda at "Just Quotes" showing me this movie.

Tell me when the time we had slipped away
tomorrow turned to yesterday
and I don't know how.
Tell me what can stop this river of tears
It's been building up for years
for this moment now.

Here I stand
Arms open wide.
I've held you close
kept you safe
till you could fly.

Tell me where the road ahead is gonna bend,
and how to harness up the wind,
and how to say goodbye.

Tell me why,
why does following your dreams
take you far away from me ~
and I knew that it would.

Tell me how to feel the space you left behind,
and how to laugh instead of cry,
and how to say goodbye

Here I stand
Arms open wide.
I've held you close,
kept you safe
till you could fly.

Tell me where the road ahead is gonna bend,
and how to harness up the wind,
and how to say goodbye.

Internet Finds

PHOTOSHOP (ELEMENTS)

Coloring Tutorial is posted here and it looks similar to something I plan on writing some day. In the meantime, learn here!

So, Grafx has felt the need to embrace the digital scrapbooking world with a tutorial to make layouts. The more I read, the more I see digital scrapbooking's influence in the internet. I have a first layout tutorial, but for those just learning, there cannot be enough of them. You can see a list of all of his tutorials here. Misty Cato has a new first layout tutorial also.

It appears that certain .png files can hack computers through certain programs. I have often wondered about downloading too many digiscrapping freebies (which I do not do) from just anywhere and whether it might be dangerous. Now I know it may be. Be careful out there! I am sure Windows and Adobe will be on top of fixing this.

Smart Picker is a color wheel that will work right inside Photoshop Elements! If I had the money I would probably purchase it and test it. Anyone else have a review?

It appears Adobe is not happy with our lingo. Check out their guidelines. We are allowed to "enhance with Adobe Photoshop software" (be sure to apply the copyright symble if you know how to do that when blogging, I do not ), but we are not allowed to use "photoshop" or "photoshopped," nor are we to refer to ourselves as "photoshoppers." What's up with that? I think I may remain guilty of misuse.

MickM.com has a lot of tutorials for Photoshop, not all applicable to Photoshop Elements, but some may be. They are rated and can be searched, which is helpful.

DITITAL SCRAPBOOKING

About.com has some cute spring paper piecing patterns that could also be utilized in digiscrapping.

Ellie over at Ellie's Treasures is compiling a huge list of links (including to me!). You are sure to find a lot of resources there. No need to click on her tabs, just keep scrolling and scrolling down!

Here's a great blog where she shares her sketches with us! Hurry, run on over to Little Book of Sketches.

Want to get creative with your journaling by writing a little ditty that rhymes? Here is a great resource called the RhymeZone.

FUN FINDS

If you enjoy cooking in the slow cooker and need new recipes, I found a new meme by Diary of a SAHM. Like me, even if you do not have time to join, you can watch them and click around for recipes.

Ms. Dewey is a fun place to search the internet. She sure has some interesting antics in response to your searching or lack thereof.

Do you want to see what the moom looks like up close and personal? Have fun cruising about at Google Moon. See where the Apolla crafts landed.

Godtube is a Youtube for, well, God. It is still fairly new and I can only hope it does not get bombarded by opponants of the same as I have seen happen to other sites. I am hopeful that this will take off and be a great place to visit. It appears to be a site reserved for only Christians.

Although the words has been out for a while, it is worthy to mention the Family Watchdog site. Search the national sex offender list for your area. You will be surprised. Click on a location to get some suprisingly detailed information about the offender.

If you like to play online games, the Kingdom of Loathing looks to be fun with its hand drawn images and cute humorous themes. If only I had time for such a thing, which I do not.

Someone shared with me Norwood Young on Myspace and I enjoyed listening to his clips of Christian music. So soft and relaxing. Also, he's not bad looking, but I'm married and not looking.

I have SO many more things to share with you, but need to get away from this computer and work in my garden. I will leave you with this fun video called the Fat Rant which I can SO identify with! She speaks for me!

I just viewed this for the first time. It is fairly clean...a few words I do not like...a few so-so topics, but not done bad. It sure had me laughing! I hope you get a laugh too!

For He so loved the world....

Here is an impactful video by Nicole Nordeman with Mel Gibson's move The Passion. It takes us from Good Friday through Easter morning.

Fun Family Time

I wanted to have some family time together with the boys, so we planned an outing to the park to attempt the mentos and diet soda. We went equipped with five bottles of soda. It was SO cold and windy! We will have to try again when we can not be so hurried to get out of the cold.

Hubbie was having more fun that the boys and was too anxious and sort of wasted a few of the sodas by just dropping two mentos in. They did fizzle all out everywhere though, totally emptying the bottles.

Finally, I took one of the bottles into the van and was brave (it could have gone bad and gotten all over me and the van) to patiently set up a bottle.

Here is the video of how that bottle worked.

If you have not seen any of these before, take the time to go to Youtube and search for "mentos and soda" and you will find many videos. Some people are even crazy to try it in their mouths.

Here are a few videos for you to view here, one of David Letterman trying it and two of some professionals that really put on a great show with them.

Speed Painting in Photoshop

Check this out! A real artist! LOL...amazing how he is doing this in Photoshop. His name is John Locke.

Relax, watch a few....

Ever since I lost all my favorites of things to share, I've not had a lot of "fun stuff" to share on the blog. I'm still bummed about that...I lost a lot of great finds, techy stuff as well as fun things. I found these two tonight that are interesting.

This guy uses a water bottle to do "spit art"....he's actually quite talented.

This one is a prank which is quite hilarious. 100 people form a mob and surprise people. You have to keep watching. The first one is a flop and you don't realize how funny it is until you see the others. Go back and watch the first one and watch the expressions on the mob as they see they goofed.

The Color Green

Now that I have sound again, I got stuck over at YouTube searching for Rich Mullins' songs. I love his music and it is sad that he died, but his music lives on.

I found this video of a song I had never heard before. The video is not all that good, but it works.

How appropriate is this for the month of March, St. Patrick's Day, and Irish blessings? I've got o' bit of Irish in me. My great-grandfather came from Ireland as a teenager.

Observe the celtic crosses in this video. Think on photos of Ireland and beautiful fields of green as you watch this video. At this time of year, God is busy sending the rains and sun to turn Winter into Spring. I so love watching the transformation and, therefore, this song really hits home for me. All of earth does seem to praise the Lord, doesn't it? Even the rocks.

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1

Follow along with the lyrics as you listen.

And the moon is a sliver of silver
Like a shaving that fell on the floor of a Carpenter's shop
And every house must have it's builder
And I awoke in the house of God
Where the windows are mornings and evenings
Stretched from the sun
Across the sky north to south
And on my way to early meeting
I heard the rocks crying out
I heard the rocks crying out

Be praised for all Your tenderness by these works of Your hands
Suns that rise and rains that fall to bless and bring to life Your land
Look down upon this winter wheat and be glad that You have made
Blue for the sky and the color green that fills these fields with praise

And the wrens have returned and they're nesting
In the hollow of that oak where his heart once had been
And he lifts up his arms in a blessing for being born again
And the streams are all swollen with winter
Winter unfrozen and free to run away now
And I'm amazed when I remember
Who it was that built this house
And with the rocks I cry out

Be praised for all Your tenderness by these works of Your hands
Suns that rise and rains that fall to bless and bring to life Your land
Look down upon this winter wheat and be glad that You have made
Blue for the sky and the color green

Be praised for all Your tenderness by these works of Your hands
Suns that rise and rains that fall to bless and bring to life Your land
Look down upon this winter wheat and be glad that You have made
Blue for the sky and the color green that fills these fields with praise

YouTube and Digital Scrapbooking

Okay, I'm on a YouTube kick today since it has been so long since I have had sound.

Did you know that you can find useful things for digital scrapbooking on YouTube?

There are plenty of Photoshop Tutorials to watch. Just do a search for it.

Some of my favorites is the Photoshop TV Guys and ActionFX.
