Quotes (e-mail subscription)

For the digiscrappers, I thought I would share another one of my favorite e-mail subscriptions. Although I have a bunch of links on my websites to sites with quotes, I have gained a lot through a yahoo group called Just Quotes. They have not been posting much recently, but the archives are full of quotes which you can run a search through.

Product Recalls

Just a short note as I am busy today. I am trying to stay interesting though so you want to come back to read!

So today I am going to give you another one of my favorite e-mail subscriptions. I have been on this list a long time.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission sends out e-mails whenever there are products that are recalled. It is not a high volume list.

I am just now noticing that they have RSS (since I'm SO getting into RSS now), so I may have to subscribe to it with Bloglines and test it out).

Scrapgirls

Time for another one of my favorite e-mail subscriptions!

This one is a digital scrapbooking one.

Scrapgirls has an awesome newsletter almost daily. I always read it. It is so interesting. There are usually two free downloads to snag every day (although I rarely take them because I have so much stuff, but it's nice stuff).

I remember when I first found Scrapgirls. I was mostly impressed at how they showed people how to do things, rather than keeping their secrets as many sites do. They are all about teaching you to make your own elements and papers and giving you the tools to easily do that. I only wish I had more time to visit their site, I could be a regular participant over there.

The newsletter always has layouts that show you how the things you can purchase at their site are used. Almost every newsletter has some sort of tutorial. It is amazing how they keep coming up with good stuff to talk about.

To subscribe, go to the main page of the site and you will see a popup box.

Bright Ideas

Time for another one of my favorite e-mail subscriptions!

Yeah, I'm gonna run out of these and have nothing interesting left to post to my blog to keep you all coming back. >grin<

This one if from M & M's called Bright Ideas. I thought it appropriate to share at this time of year as everyone is preparing meal plans for the holidays. The folks there provide some fun editable delights year round. It is a low volumn e-mail subscription and even if I don't make any of their suggestions, I always enjoy seeing what new things they come up with.

Kartoon Nuggets

I cannot hold back and save these for other days, just to spread them out so I have something to talk about. :)

So, here's another one of my most favorite e-mail subscriptions.

These Christian cartoons are absolutely wonderful. What makes them even better is what he writes about the cartoons which makes the cartoons so applicable to life. I have enjoyed his e-mails for many years. This guy's been spreading his faith for a long time. I'm sure Jesus is smiling on him.

To sign up for his email list, scroll to the bottom of the page.

AndiesIsle

Time for me to share another one of my favorite e-mail subscriptions.

I love this Christian website called AndiesIsle. Wonderful songs with coordinating flash graphics to inspire you.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, you will find her e-mail subscribtion boxes so you can be notified immediately of her new pages. There are only a few per year, so it is a low e-mail subscription.

These are some of the recent pages:

Scared Santa

This is so cute! Okay, I found this on Mrs. Miles blog...she's got a very interesting blog. :) She gives away free digital scrapbooking stuff every day, but includes many interesting things to read along with it. I'm sure it is time consuming for her to bless all of us so!

Multi-Photo Scrapbooking

Well, I will share with you another one of my favorite blogs! As many of you know, I never understand why there are so many one photo layouts in galleries. I feel many of them are just made to show off a kit. We've had many discussion on this matter in the Yahoo Group. Anyway, I love this blog for inspiration and scraplifting purposes. It's a blog full of multi-photo layouts! And Tanika posts daily to it too! What an awesome, awesome thing she has done for our scrapping community. I'm sure this is time consuming for her and I thank her for doing so.

The link is also going in the sidebar of my blog as a favorite blog subscription! If you don't know RSS yet, time to learn!

Favorite Blogs - Speartoons

Yesterday seemed a semi-normal day for me. I got one tutorial (towards the digital scrapbooking classes I will be teaching next year ) done and I thought I was going to get a second done, but did not quite make it. Maybe I can finish it today.

The Eagle project is nearly written, but we still have other final paperwork to get done.

We discovered that my calendar was wrong and there is a football game the same night as the concert, so we are rushing around trying to find two people to buy two tickets. Always something. Life.

I took the time to pick a date for my son's 16th birthday party and now I need to begin focusing on preparing for it...invitations, food, cake, gift....etc. They are always so much more work than they appear to be! I am anxious for him to get his license and to relieve me of some of my taxi-mom duties. I have a countdown to that date on the sidebar!

I thought I would share with you all my favorite blogs and start a new list in the sidebar. Hopefully, my post about RSS helped some of you. I have subscribed to his RSS.

I have been a long time fan of Speartoons. Formerly, he shared his toons through an e-mail group, but now he is making use of a blog. I have collected a folder of them on my computer. He allows churches to use his cartoons in newsletters and bulletins.

His Christian cartoons have great messages behind them. He really does a great job at life application.

Amazing Grace - E-mail Subscription

Not much new this morning to babble about, so I thought I would share with you one more of my favorite e-mail subscriptions.

This one is the Three Minute Message called Amazing Grace. It is a Yahoo Group here. I see they have over 14,000 members in the group. I have yet to figure out what denomination they are, but I find their messages to be very demoninational friendly.

I really enjoy the Bible verse with a short devotional following that relates to the verse. They are well written and applicable to life. I hope you enjoy it too.

Graphics Software E-mail Subscription

I think it is time to finally add a second to my Favorite E-mail Subscription on my side bar.

About.com is a wonderful source of information in many areas. I have found a lot of answers on their site.

One of my favorite e-mail subscriptions is to their Graphics Software newsletter. It really helps me keep up on the programs that are utilized for digital scrapbooking.

Click here to go to the main page at about.com. Scroll down the sidebar on the left to find the box to sign up for the newsletter.

Breaking News E-mail Alerts

I am sharing and adding to the sidebar another favorite e-mail subscription of mine (actually two).

Have you signed up for any breaking news alerts yet? The big news stories come right to my inbox immediately as they are happening. For instance, yesterday when the small airplane of the baseball player hit the building, I received an e-mail immediately with a one sentence line alerting me. For more information, just go to the websites. I actually prefer to watch the news stories on Yahoo’s homepage.

I receive one e-mail at work and a different one at home.

I like CBS news simply because my city’s television station is CBS, but you can probably find the alerts for any of the stations.
Go to http://www.cbsnews.com/ and scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will see “E-Mail Sign up.” Next to that, click on “Breaking News”

You can do the same thing at http://www.cnn.com/.
Scroll to the bottom of the page where you see “Services” and click on “E-mail.”

Of course, both of these sites have RSS you can sign up for too.

Do you receive a breaking news e-mail alert? Which one do you prefer?

Scrappers Guide

I also just started a link section in my sidebar for my favorite digiscrapping subscriptions.

I am so sad that I was too busy last week and missed the first video in Linda's series about folding corners. She is only leaving them up for one week. Sigh. I got the e-mail reminder, but I was just too busy.

This week's video is about making brushes out of type. It's great!

If you use Photoshop Elements or Photoshop, I would recommend you subscribe.

Find the forum here and in my sidebar.

Favorite Comic

Hey all,

I thought I would start a section on the sidebar to add my favorite e-mail subscriptions. Maybe you will be interested in some of them too.

First, I am starting with my favorite comic by e-mail. At comics.com, you can subscribe for free to one comic by e-mail daily. I believe you have to pay to receive more than one, but it's been a while since I've checked it out. You can even go to their page and see the past comics rather than get them by e-mail.

I subscribe to the Frank and Ernest comic. I love it!
My second choice would be Ziggy, but I'm not about to pay! I can see Ziggy on my MyYahoo page, so that is satisfactory for me.

What is your favorite comic?
