oh, the luggage!
We spent a very long time reading all about luggage, the sizes, and what was and was not allowed in the luggage when flying.
I have never flown before, so this is all new to me.
We began measuring the luggage that we currently own, which actually consisted of one piece.

This suitcase is the only suitcase we have ever owned or used. Both of us have packed in this suitcase for four or five day trips!
Imagine our surprise when we discovered it was a carry-on size! Wow! And to think all of this time we thought it was a huge suit case!
We decided we had one carry-on size luggage and would need another carry-on size and one large check-in size piece. We went to four stores and shopped for hours. Goodness, there was a whole lot of thinking going on and much to consider.

I found this piece and immediately loved the tan with the leather and we purchased it for my carry-on. I believe I am even going to put my laptop in this bag. Hubby is going to carry my netbook in the other carry-on.
There was a full size in this still, but it was much thinner than the other full-size luggage, so we had to fore-go getting matching suitcases.

This is for all the people who have told us that they are riding in our luggage! We couldn't resist seeing if anyone really could fit in the 29" luggage we purchased.
It seems so HUGE that we are wondering why we even need it, especially since it will be an extra $25 to bring it each way. Since we apparently are much lighter packers than we really knew, what will we put in here? We started a packing list (three shirts, three shorts, three underwear, swimsuits, etc.). We only need three or four of each as we have a washer and dryer to throw things in over night. Seriously, why do we need this suitcase?

He tried to get in it the other way and it worked no better.
Sorry everyone, even if we do not need it, it is too small for you!

I bought this new bag as my personal bag. I wanted something that would act as a purse and my camera bag so I would only have to carry one bag. In addition, the camera can get heavy, so I wanted something guy friendly just in case hubby would need to carry it. This canvas bag which I got for $7 was perfect! I bought some foam to put in the bottom and sides to protect my camera and it is just right!

We decided that due to the warnings of thefts on the island, especially at beach parking, that we needed something waterproof for my camera. We bought with some gift cards that I had these two insulated coolers (lunch bags). I was excited about the cute design. My camera fits in both of them, so we can use one of them to carry my camera to the beach and the other one to pack drinks and snacks for picnic lunches on the beach. They collapse flat and fit right in our big luggage for transporting.
Shopping for luggage was just one more way we spent our time getting excited about our trip!
