What? There's no delete?

I've been saying for a long time that I would be deleting my "internet me" Facebook account, but people kept adding me as a friend, so it was hard to do! Ever since I was able to create and utilize the Fan Page from my "real me" Facebook account (you can join it here), I had no need for the other account.

I finally got up the muster and decided to delete it. I could not find a delete link, but there was a "deactivate" link.

Much to my surprise, once it was deactivated, I was immediately invited to reactive it! What? So there's no way to get all of my personal information off the Facebook cache? That is actually a bit scary to think about. It even indicates that it will be "like you used to". I'm totally curious now and almost tempted to reactivate it to see if all the friends and everything else is still there, but I won't.

So join me on my Fan Page instead. I'm having a lot of fun chatting to people there and am so appreciative of all those that chatter with me!

I'm pretty sure all your friends will still be there when you reactivate the account.

It is true, all your info is still there.

Actually Facebook is being sued by Canada over this exact issue on behalf of Canadian Facebook users.

Hmm, think I'd be removing as much of my info from it as I could before deactivating. I'm not a big facebook fan but it can be useful at times.

When I decided to try doing a blog several weeks ago, I added a layout I'd done; then I deleted that, and replaced it with a larger version of the same layout; then my cousin told me about a change I needed to make on the layout, so I deleted the 2nd version, and put a 3rd version on my blog.

I recently decided to use Picasa, and once I opened an account, I was amazed to find all three versions of my layout, already there in my new account!

It's kind of scary to know it's all there...

by the way, I'm having trouble posting, guess I'll do it as anonymous...
