Michael Jackson - Focus on the Good

I, along with millions of others, am shocked at the death of Michael Jackson.

I was in high school when he was at his best. We know what an impressionable age the teen years can be. I can say that some of the lyrics in his songs made a great impression on me.

I even had written the "Heal the World" lyrics in my Bible. I hold onto them as the type of person I want to be (but feel I do not do as I want). When I wrote these lyrics, there was no internet to copy the words from. I merely started and stopped an old music cassette player as I wrote. The effort that it took me surely says something about how powerful these lyrics are.

There are the lyrics that strike me the hardest: "There are people dying, If you care enough for the living, Make a better place, For you and for me

Make a little space, make a better place for you and for me"

................my space if very little, but what can I do with that little space?

I know that in the later years there was controversy surrounding Michael Jackson, but I prefer to focus on the good.

Here's an official video for the song (it has embed disabled).

I have this in my bible

I have this in my bible

Theres a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try, you'll find theres no need to cry
In this place you'll feel there's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there
Ifyou care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

If you want to know why there's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only care for joyful giving
If we try, we shall see
In this bliss, we cannot feel fear or dread
We stop existing and start living

Then it feels that always
Loves enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better world

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

And the dream we were conceived in will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify its soul
Though its plain to see, this world is heavenly
Be God's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart, I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

You and for me
You and for me
You and for me ..........

Hummie, how ironic to look over at this screen and see your Feed Blitz come through as I had just finished taking a "What Hit Michael Jackson Song Are You" on Facebook on my other computer and guess which one I am? YUP, "Heal The World"!

I used to listen to this song over and over again. SO powerful and SO profound.

I am in TOTAL agreement with you and it is something we should ALWAYS do in EVERY situation, "Focus on the good".

Thank you for sharing the lyrics and, yes, isn't it AMAZING how much time we used to spend starting and stopping records and/or cassettes to write the lyrics in long-hand? LOL! WOW, you've taken me back a few years darlin'!

Have a GLORIOUS weekend!

Hugs,
Linda :)

How wonderful to have all the lyrics, and it is a beautiful song without doubt. I was with my son when they flashed it across the screen, what a sad ending. I will not judge him, there is good in everybody.
