Techique Challenge - Fitting Pieces

There is a video for this challenge--I love this technique of finding odd shapes in elements and cutting pieces out of photos and mats. Won't you join me in doing a layout with this technique?

You can see the quick video and other layouts in the challenge thread.

Brushes Video Tutorial Part 2 & Software Reviews

First, I want to share with you a cool blinkie that Chris made for the Kudos Team. You can get it on the Graphics Grab page, upload it to your host, and put it in your signature line at DST.

I am excited that the Kudos Team is still going well. What is the Kudos Team? Anyone can join. Just watch the forum threads for the chosen layouts and help to make someone's day by bombarding them with warm fuzzies!

Goodness, what a weekend!

I purchased a new tivo with our tax refund. I've been putting that off forever, but the old one was not reliable. It would record the wrong channel or record a black screen. Now we have the dual tuner version. However, I had procrastinated getting a new one because I remember how hard the set-up was with the first one. It took us a week the first time. This one was not much easier. I was up until 1:30 in the morning working on it Friday night and worked more hours on Saturday, but I think we've got it. Maybe this stress of set-up will relieve the stress of it not working right.

Why is it we had a pile of wires left over after we were done? Hmmmmm. Giggle.

I got a new printer too! My old all-in-one printer/scanner was also a stressfest! It would not scan right. Ever since I installed IE7, it wasn't compatible with it for some odd reason.

I can now print borderless layouts! Yeah!

I am totally stoked and excited...can you tell? I'm going to be a printing maniac this week to catch up on all my printing. Now I can scan old photos without stress too!

We also got a new lawn mower. Sigh. Not what I wanted to spend my money on, but the decision to repair or purchase was a hard one. We will need to be mowing in a week or so I am guessing.

I made four videos today! It was a LOT of work. I sure hope that these are helpful to you.

You can find Part 2 of the brushes tutorial for Photoshop Elements in this thread. I believe you have to be logged in to see it. Goodness, that was a hard one to make. The tutorial covers loading brushes, creating brushes, and saving them. The saving part is the hard part.

Since it is not recommended to install brushes permanently, I did three videos on the three softwares available (that I'm aware of) to preview brushes. Brushes must be previewed so that you can choose which .abr file to load.

The first video is for ABRViewer. This is a free program and can suit the needs of many. I could not get the install feature to work with PSE though. It does export in .png. You can see the video here.

The second video is for ACDSee Photo Manager. This is a great program with many other wonderful attributes, but for brush viewing, I was excited to find that it did install with Photoshop Elements! I could not find a way to export in .png though. You can see my review video here.

The third video is for Tumasoft Preset Viewer. I love this program too! It does so much more than just brushes. It also views swatches, patterns, and shapes. It is the only one in which you can recreate .abr files (libraries) by reorganizing the brushes into new sets. Brushes can even be created with shapes! I found this program very user friendly. It also exports into .png.

I could not get it to install the brushes and swatches with PSE, but I was able to get it to install the patterns and shapes. John will continue to work on these issues. He has lots of upgrades underway for an upgrade version to come out in a few months. You can see my review video here.

I am aware that one concern of designers regarding exporting brushes is their ppi. I did a quick review. I found that neither Tumasoft or ABRViewer exported in 300 ppi, but ABRViewer did have a larger export size when comparing the same file (72 ppi vs. 119.99 ppi).

Of course, I wonder if the original size of the brush has anything to do with how it exports. I would have to make my own set of brushes to compare, but I've had enough work for today!

Just Scrapping & Spring & Bathroom Babbles

Last night I had an urge to just scrap--for me. No goals for my blog readers, no freebies or videos for people at my site--just for me. I got almost 7 layouts done! I have just a few events from 2006 I'm trying to finish so I can call that year done. These layouts last night were from a family reunion and Christmas and have way too many faces in them to feel comfortable sharing on the internet. That's one reason they are the last to get done. It felt good to just scrap for fun!

Tuesday my Hyacinths began to bloom. They look really sad this year. I'm not sure if it is because of the ice storms and flooding or if they did not get enough nutrients last year. I may throw some fertilizer on them this weekend. They use the nutrients after they bloom as the leaves die back while preparing for next year. I just don't think to fertilize when its so cold outside.

My Forsithia bush also started to bloom the same day. It doesn't look to be affected too much by the bad weather. The green is already coming out though, two days later. The blooms seem short lived.

A few weeks ago we got all of our leaves out of the front yard and, as always, I knew it was useless. Why do I even bother? Until all the neighbors clean up the leaves in their yards, the pile just accumlates again from their yards. It frustrates me every year. I wish my neighbors did a better work on their yards.

I also heard by first lawn mower yesterday. It sounded odd--out of place. I am reminded that our lawn mower stopped running the end of last year and I'm torn as to whether or not we should pay a lot of money to have it fixed as it is 5 or 6 years old, or if we should just invest in a new one. Hubby wants to get a Lawn Boy, but I'm not sure I can justify that cost. Are they really all that better than other lawn mowers? I'd love to have your opinions.

This toothpaste has been greeting me every morning for two weeks and totally irking me until I put it back out of site. Why does my hubbie do this? Really. He opens a new tube of toothpaste and starts using it before the old one is used. I've been using the old one for two weeks now and still getting paste out of it. I often wonder if I weren't here if partially empty containers of all sorts of supplies would just gather about the house. He does this with everything. He never throws out anything. Of course, it would be a waste to throw out good toothpaste, but he just doesn't want to use the end of the tube for some reason.

I just cannot get hubbie to clean up his act. This empty tube of paste is nearly dead. Why doesn't he continue to breath life into it?

It reminds me of how God probably looks at me. Why doesn't she clean up her act? She's nearly dead, why should I continue to breath life into her?

Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?

I know hubbie's actions frustrate me, but I am reminded that I too sin and must frustrate God in the same way. Whenever others frustrate me, just turning my focus on what a horrible sinner I am helps to take that frustrations away. I am thankful that Jesus died on the cross to truly wash away all of my sins. Because I believe in what He did for me, I can know that I am clean. He could look at me as a hopeless case that would never get her act together, but instead He loves me and breaths new life into me daily. Isn't our God awesome?

Yes, this has turned into another issue in my series of Bathroom Babbles. If you haven't read them, you can find them here on my blog. I'm not sure why I gain such inspiration in my bathroom. There's humor in that. Maybe some day I'll have a mini book to publish.

Brushes Video Tutorial and A Theme Song!

Hummie's World has a theme song!

Lori sent me this video last night as a warm fuzzie and it sure did make me smile! I just wish she could have seen my face when I realized what it was. At first I thought it was lyrics and I'd hear a tune to follow along. Then I heard her voice and saw the video! Giggle.

Leave Lori love in the comments below or in the forum. Please share some warm fuzzies back with her!

I have Part I of a video tutorial on brushes up. You can think of it as Brushes101. Next I will make Part II which matches the written tutorial for creating brushes and installing them.

Also, I have previewed Tumasoft software and will be sharing a video of it. It's a must have software! Just wait until you see!

I will also share with you a video of brushes in ACDSee and in ABRViewer so you can have a preview of those programs.

So much to come. Stay tuned!

For a limited time, you can see the brushes video in this thread. You must be logged in to see it. In a little while, it will be moved to the Subscriber area.

Egg Share EggsPlosion!

Who would have thought that me craving egg salad sandwiches would have influenced so many others to crack the egg! How funny is the power of suggestion!

Danzinst left this suggestion in the comments and I'm gonna have to try it!

I learned this tip from a chef years ago when boiling eggs. I let them boil for 8 minutes, immediately put them in cold water and crack every one all over while they are still in the cold water. 5 minutes later the shells just slide off. This had worked for me for years. Of course if you are going to do Easter Eggs don't crack them, lol!

I continue to read in the forums and e-mails that my mention empowered them to go and make the same. Check out Dani's sandwich on her blog...doesn't it look scrumpish?!! She likes her chunks just right and uses a slicer. How pretty!

This just calls for an Egg Share EggsPlosion!

Go ahead, blog about your eggs and come back here to add your link! Links to galleries are okay too if you do not have a blog.

Here are photos of my egg salad sandwich.

I started out with some peeled eggs, mustard, mayo, and relish. Not so appealing looking this way.

I used the fork to just mash it all together. Not so appealing this way either with all the slime on the side of the bowl.

Here is the finished sandwich! Now wasn't that quick and easy. Yummy!

Hard Boiled Eggs

This may be a little late, but then again--not.

I wanted to know if my readers had any tips for hard boiling the perfect egg.

I have found the best thing to do is to put the eggs directly from the boiling water into ice water. Does anyone else do this? I am not sure why this works. It must have something to do with expanding and contracting with the temperature.

I have also found that older eggs that have set in the refrigerator for a while peel better than fresh eggs. Why is that?

I also understand it is best to put them in the water before bringing the water to boil. I let mine boil for about 5 minutes and then turn off the heat and let them cook for another 5 minutes.

Please leave a comment and share you tips!

What do you do with your eggs? How long do you cook them?

I love to just peel them and slice them with a sprinkle of salt. I have an egg slicer that works well.

However, I also just LOVE egg salad sandwiches. I peel my egg, add a tad of mayo, a tad of mustard, and a tad of pickle relish in a bowl -- careful, not too much of each. Grab a fork and start squishing it all together until it's one big mushed up mess. Slap it between two peices of toast and enjoy!

I often wonder why I do not think to hard boil eggs at any other time of the years. I do love eating them and they are so easy to make. They are great on salads too.

Someone remind me in July that I like hard boiled eggs, will you please? It is never too late to hard boil eggs.

Corkboard Video Tutorial in Photoshop Elements

Did everyone have a nice weekend?

I was excited on Friday when my youngest passed his driver's test. I NEVER have to go back to that place again! I so do not like the stress of waiting and praying while anticipating whether or not they passed and whether or not I have to push them to study or practice and come back again.

I'm excited! I'm inspired to make another kit for driving and hope to have it done this week. Here is a layout with parts of the kit I have already begun to create.

I made a video tutorial on how to make corkboard in Photoshop Elements.

The tutorial also show you how to make corkboard elements.

There is also a free download which includes a corkboard background, frame, tack, and little car, but you have to be logged in.

Thank you for all the kind comments on my last freebie. I don't think I've ever gotten so many direct comments on my blog (I do get some on 4shared when I use it). It really helps me to keep going at providing freebies.

Off to start another work week. I am still waiting for more signs of Spring. There is frost on my windshield yet again this morning. Poor Daffodils are trying to sing and the weather isn't cooperating.

Have a blessed Easter

I am still trying to get layouts done from 2006 and just finished Easter! I only have 6 more events to finish and I SO want to get the done.

I wanted to give my readers something nice to celebrate the risen Lord, so I took the opportunity to create some elements while creating my layout that I could share with you. It took me over two hours to make that silly egg! I created it from scratch with gradients and noise and filters, and such, and had a nice looking egg going on, but I couldn't get the realistic texture. So I scanned an egg (yes, only crazy people like me will be spending their Saturday morning trying to scan an egg). I played with that for a while to no avail. So, I got out the camera and, yes! Finally some texture to work with to blend into my egg I already had created from scratch. I sure hope you like it. I spent way to much time on it. Booo-yah!

The word art was a last minute addition and I kind of like it. Don't you?
Download here. (leave comments here though--it's sad not getting hardly any)

How Ironic--the sun and Good Friday

How ironic is it that the sun is shining so brightly (finally after all the days of rain) on Good Friday.

I am happy to have the day off of work and I have been enjoying scrapping with my time off so far. We will be leaving soon to attempt to get Mason's driver's license, so wish us well!

Earlier this week I had to empty my pocketbook - Ouch!- on two class rings. I did this for Lori's clustering elements challenge and used Tina Williams new Faithbased kit for "Faith." See, my title is clustered! Aren't you proud of me? I love the clustered look, but it doesn't come natural for me. Tina does it on every layout and it's her style--you should check it out.

All of Tina's Faithbased kits are 70% off right now!

There are SO many challenges in the forums that are so lonely--won't you join us? The sponsors have challenges in their own threads, as well as my challenges. Surely there is something there to get you inspired!

I love Dani's layout! I love Claudette's layout!

I was so excited to see this adorable layout that Dani made with all the focus on the photo using my new Irish Heritage Add-on kit that I just had to share! The layout is so clean and simple and my style!

I just love the little cluster of elements she created. I was so excited about it I decided to recreate it and share the custer element as a freebie!

This freebie is set to expire in three days! Click here!

Oh, and I'm loving using this Wikisend instead of 4shared. I don't have to worry about taking the file down after a while as I can set the expiration date and do not have to log in to see comments as hopefully everyone comments here instead. I do have comment set so you do not have to log in to make it easy for you to leave your love right here on the blog.

Have a blessed Maundy Thursday everyone! As you think about the significance of today and the Last Supper, reflect on the three leaves of the Shamrock as it represents the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I am so glad the rain has stopped. I feel like singing, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone." Although the local flooding of streets is down, now we are watching the Mississippi River rise above flood stage in the next few days.

Check out Claudette's layout which you made with my heritage kit. I love how she stapled the tag to the frame!

Feather/Vignette/Blending Video Tutorial in Photoshop Elements

I was happy to get another video tutorial finished last night.
I made this sentimental sappy layout of hubby taking down our swing set. Boo hooo! My grandchildren were supposed to use the same set as my children! Rust had other plans for the swing.

You can see the video on how to blend the photo as in this layout in my forums, but you need to be logged in. After a bit of time, the video will only be available in the Subscriber area, so catch it for free now! The written tutorial will always be free.

Record Rainfalls? This Weather!

Dear Blog Readers,

Do you recall my recent post regarding the weather changing daily here in Missouri? If you don't like it, wait a day--it will change.

On Sunday, I was so excited to see my Daffodils blooming for the first time! This variety blooms before the other varieties.

Today we have had a record rainfall statistic broken by 5 p.m. (10 and a 1/2 inches) and the rain is not due to stop at any time soon today.

I took a quick tour about my back yard and down the street to share with you my weather as you can see in the video. The camera grumped at me every time it focused, so bear through the odd noises!

Rain, Rain, Go away, Come again another day--but not as ICE!

Surprise! I am trying to gather together creators of digital scrapbooking videos together in a group at YouTube.

You can go here to see the group and videos.

Anyone can join the group and subscribe to get notifications of videos.

Anyone can share a video.

What are you waiting for? Grab the blinkie and go!

New Prayer Journal Challenge

Credit for Graphic - My Heritage Add-on Irish Kit

When my boys were little, I typed up this list and taped it to the back of my kitchen cabinet.
Each week I choose one word to encourage in my boys.
I said the word to them often to teach them the meaning of the word and to praise them for good behavior.

I often found myself running and opening the door to seek for just the right word when disciplining or praising the boys.

After the boys could read, they were running to the door to find a word for me.

I wonder if, now that they are older, they remember this activity at all. It did carry on for years until one day I could not stand the food stains and finger prints all over it. I took down the list and retyped it and stuck it in my Bible.

The Challenge

You can find the challenge in this thread.

Create layouts and journal your prayers for your children using these traits.
Upload it to the gallery using the Faithbooking Challenge label.

Are you wearing your green today?

If you haven't left the house yet, hurry, run back, or you'll get pinched today!

I remember my Grandma always being excited about this holiday and how cute she was about it. Her father came from Ireland when he was 16. I will think about her a lot today.

I made this kit to scrap all of those heritage layouts about Irish genealogy.
Use this code for 25% off through the 27th of March: O Irish
The kit can be found in my store as an add-on to my heritage kit.

I made a comment in my e-mails that

"I am still at awe at how long it takes to design. Those really good designers aren’t paid enough!"

Eugenia wrote me back with a great quote and I just had to share it with others.

It only takes you a long time because of the quality of your work and the pride you take in it :)
Here is a sample of this kit for you to download, the celtic cross.
This is not 4shared, but a faster download, so please leave comments here before clicking!

I love many of the Irish proverbs, poems, and quotes. Here are the ones from my other blog for you to enjoy on this holiday. Who knows, they may be great for your scrapbooking pages!

The Irish sure were wise, weren't they? Do you think I inherited any of that wisdom?

***************
May the face of every good news and the back of every bad news be toward us.
***************
Like the goodness of the five loaves and two fishes,
Which God divided among the five thousand men,
May the blessing of the king who so divided be upon our share of this common
meal.
****************
May the roof above us never fall in, and may we friends gathered below never
fall out.
*************
May the strength of three be in your journey.
****************
Heres to you and yours and to mine and ours and if mine and ours ever come
across you and yours I hope you and yours will do as much for mine and ours
as mine and ours have done for you and yours.
****************
May you have warm words on a cold evening a full moon on a dark night and
the road downhill all the way to your door.
*********************
May there be a generation of children on the children of your children.
*********************
Heres a health to your enemies' enemies.
******************
May you live to be a hundred years with one extra year to repent.
*********************
May I see you grey and combing your childrens hair.
********************
May the lord keep you in his hand and never close his fist too tight on you.
******************
God gives every bird its food,
but He does not throw it into its nest.
*********************
We drink to your coffin. May it be built from the wood of a hundred year old
oak tree that I shall plant tomorrow.
*****************
May the good Lord take a liking to you...
But not too soon!
*******************
There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships,
And may they always be.
***********************
May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.
**************************
May those that love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.
***************
May misfortune follow you the rest of your life, and never catch up.
************************
May you never make an enemy
When you could make a friend -
Unless you meet a fox among your chickens.
*********************
May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
the foresight to know where you're going,
and the insight to know when you've gone too far.
*********************
May Shamrocks bloom in your backyard!
**********************
May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
***************
Life is like a cup of tea,
it's all in how you make it!
*******************
I complained that I had no shoes
Until I met a man who had no feet.
*************
Grant me a bit of humor, Lord,
The saving grace to see a joke
To win some happiness from life,
And pass it on to other folks.

**********************************
May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow.
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

***************************
As you slide down the banisters of life,
may the splinters never point the wrong way.

*******************************
May the blessings of each day
be the blessing you need most.

*************************
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
Slow to make enemies,
And quick to make friends,
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward

***************************
May you enjoy the four greatest blessings:
Honest work to occupy you.
A hearty appetite to sustain you.
A good woman to love you.
And a wink form the God above.

**************************
If you find yourslef on a stony path,
may you have strong shoes.

**********************

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
the foresight to know where you're going.

***********************************
Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

*********************
May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

*******************************

Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your first.

******************************

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May Gold hold you in the hollow of His Hand.

Wyss' Pieces: Geography 101

Oh my, this is so funny!

Mostly, it's just funny because we can all relate. Really, I admit it, I didn't know the answers to these questions. But I've got a good excuse. My sponge of a brain is full and I've had to squeeze out good info to make room for new things to remember. It was funny when I couldn't remember the answer, but immediately recognized that the answer was wrong.

Okay, I admit it though, I mostly like it because my son is hidden in the middle of all this. {smile} Who can find him?

Template #38

I have template #38 up and ready for you to download in both square and rectangle. I've been sick and just am happy to get something up for you. To see the download links, you must be logged in.

I may or may not work properly for you....

I arrived at work this morning to find this note taped to the copier.

As I read it, I could do nothing but think that it was talking about my son, rather than the copier! Isn't that a hoot?!!!

Thanks to our whitty Beverly, it reads:

I'm Temperamental

I may or may not work properly for you. It just depends on who you are and if I am in a good mood or not. My counselor has been called for a consultation, so you'll have to try your luck with me until my session with him.

Good luck -- go for it- make my day

*****

Okay, my son doesn't see any counselor except the school counselor.

At the end of the day, after 6 hours of a session with the counselor, a new note appeared on the copier that said "out of order" which made me think of my hubby's back. Giggle.

Only for DigiScrapper Eyes..

I saw this on the way home from work and couldn't resist sharing it.

This is only for DigiScrappers eyes, as only they will understand it!

Hey, it rhymes!

Paper Piecing in Digital Scrapbooking and Fixing Photos

Is paper piecing only applicable to traditional scrapbooking? Think again! You can watch the video here, but must be logged in to see it.

One of my students in my local scrapbooking class asked me to teach her how to repair her old photos as she is wanting to scrapbook heritage pages. So I took this photo of hers and repaired it. I took the opportunity to share on the internet to help others too!

BEFORE

AFTER

I recorded videos that share how I fixed the two problems with these photos in Photoshop Elements.

Do you have old black and white photos that have been thrown in a box and gotten bent creating a crack?
You can fix them!

What about all those old photos that have somehow developed ugly brown spots?
You can fix them!

Today is Harriet Tubman Day.

"I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves." ~ Harriet Tubman

************
Just a thought:
What are you a slave to?

Are you a slave to the daily grind?

Are you a slave to your hobbies?

Are you a slave to your addictions?

Are you a slave to television?

Are you a slave to your debts?

Are you a slave to your fears?

Are you a slave to your troubles?

Ephesians 6:6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

New Owner of Digital Scrapbooking Blog Carnival

I would like to thank Kiki Scraps (Kiki Halbert) for taking over the Digital Scrapbooking Blog Carnival. I am excited that such a great resource can continue to be utilized.

Kiki sells at Scrapbook-Elements and Plain Digital Wrapper.

I made her a video to watch so she could see how it works and the widget has successfully been transferred to her and she's gathering hosts and finding sites and..wow..she's on a roll!

What a big burden off of me. Thanks so much!

As always, there is a blog carnival tutorial on this blog post and this is the page where you can submit articles and grab the widget for your sidebar.

You know you live in Missouri if...

You know you live in Missouri if the weather is totally different every day.

Sunday--I was out in the yard doing work wearing shorts in 72 degree sunny weather.

Monday - It rained ALL day.

Tuesday - Ice Storm

Wednesday - Overcast and 40 degrees--everything melting.

Thursday - Sun is shining and signs of Spring abound, only to turn to snow showers by nightfall.

Friday - No school --too much snow.

I was so excited on Thursday to spot my first Spring robin! Yep, March 6th is now documented as my first siting of a Spring Robin. I grabbed my cell phone camera and snapped a photo of the bird. I always take a photo of my first Spring robin sighting. I peaked at my photos from 2007 and noted the date of March 10th. Hmmm..pretty close to the same date!

I turned around and spotted my first Spring flower! The crocus bulbs are peaking above the ground and ready to bloom.

Ooops....so sad! --only to snow the next day and cover them up. Sigh.

I made this layout last night using the Color Pencil filter. It's easy to do! Come join us in the forums.

Leigh shared the quote for this layout and I just couldn't resist making a play out of the words since my boys are all taller than their Dad. I thought this made for a cool "guy" layout.

Once again, I have scrapped with no elements. It seems I rarely us things in kits on my layouts.

I made a video yesterday for how to make circle text in Photoshop Elements. There is also a free quick page available for download. I hope to see your layouts!

Content no longer relevant

Goodness, I had someone unsubscribe from Feedblitz last night with a note of "content no longer relevant."

That got me thinking about what this person must have subscribed to read that they are no longer reading. I believe most subscribers read to either catch the freebies or tutorials. I continue to work hard to get both of those things up and am adding videos to my forum constantly.

It makes me wonder if this person had subscribed for my photography posts. I really do need to get another challenge together for that.

Please give me some info. Please leave me a comment. Why do you subscribe to my blog. What types of posts would you like to see me do that I was previously doing, but have been missing? What types of posts would you like to see me doing in the future?

Thanks for your help and information! I want to provide things people are interested in reading and, therefore, need your help to do so!

What is "stumble?"

Both Jae and Chris asked me from my last post what "stumble" is. I was referring to Stumble Upon. Stumble Upon is a great way to get traffic to your blog.

It is also a great way to find new sites. It is also a great time waster. After installing the web bar, just try it by clicking on the link on the far left of the bar to stumble. It will take you to site suggestions based on your interests. If you like a site, you "stumble" it by clicking on the "I like it" button on the bar. The more you tell it what you like or do not like, the more it learns what you like to give you better suggestions.

However, as a blog owner, if someone stumbles you, I can testify that it sends a lot of traffic to your blog. Now, you can get away with stumbling yourself a few times, but the program is smart and will pick up on that, so just don't do it.

Therefore, there are people gathering in various spots on the internet, such as BlogCatalog Groups to exchange stumbles. I have a Digital Scrapbooking Group there you are welcome to join.

Whether or not being stumbled helps to bring regular readers or not, I'm not sure. It gives a false sense of readership for sure, but I suppose if being stumbled brings one new reader, that is a good thing.

If you have stats installed on your blog, you can see who is linking to you. If you are stumbled, this shows up in the stats.

In order to see who stumbled you, you have to first go to your blog page which was stumbled. Click on the little icon that looks like a speaker bubble for "reviews on this page" and it will take you to a stumble page which will reveal who stumbled you.

Since I am on a new laptop, I did not have my bar installed yet when I wrote me post yesterday.

Today I can see that both Mpatry and Karooch stumbled my post of January 29th and caused me traffic! Now, out of internet ettiquette, it is only appropriate that I find one of their posts of interest and stumble them right back.

As I wrote on my post of August 2nd, you can get convenient links at the bottom of each post on your blog by installing Feedflaire through Feedburner. Therefore, anyone can stumble me easily by looking at the bottom of each of my posts.

There is so much more about Stumble Upon than I can blog about. It is a community in which you may add others as your friend, go straight to your friends stumble suggestions to find things of interest to them, join groups of interest, and so much more. I just do not have time to participate much, but I do recommend the site. If you haven't checked it out, you need to go and waste some time there!

Okay, who....

Yeah, um, I was checking my stats which I haven't done in a long time (like I have any time for anything any more) and realized someone has stumbled me.

Okay, who did it? Who stumbled me? Don't make me spend time figuring out who you are? Just fess up!

>grin>

Oh, yeah, and yes, I do have a lot of e-mails for the blogroll. I get so many that I let them pile up and attack them at the same time. It's on my mind....I'll be getting to it soon. Thanks for being patient. >while your waiting, you could stumble me again>big grin<
