Does Jesus Live Here?

I remember the story of a simple couple who were visited by their new pastor. When the man came home at the end of the day, his wife said, "The new minister came for a visit today, and she asked me a question I couldn't answer."

"What did she ask?" "She asked me, 'Does Jesus live here?' "And what did you answer?" "I didn't know what to say." "Well, why couldn't you tell her that we are very respectable people in our town?" "But she didn't ask me that." "Then you could have told her we go to church when we feel like it and don't have anything more important to do." "But she didn't ask me that either." "Then you could have told her that we pray at some of our meals, especially when we have company." "But she didn't ask me that, either -- what she asked me was, 'does Jesus Christ live here?'"
