HOUSE RULE #8
If Mom finds the remote control anywhere but on the coffee table, then the all male inhabitants of this house will loose t.v. privileges for one week.

Good rule, Hummie, we just solved by having two remotes and my husband's is his - it hardly ever gets lost.
No problem with the remote; but had problems with phones misplaced, even though we have 4. If they did not replace phones where they belonged they would just use another one. We live in a 4-ring circus! :p
Oh, remotes. We had one tv where if you turned it on on the tv itself, it would send out a beacon to the remote and it would "chirp" til you found it. Sometimes that was very handy!
We have this trouble with phones, as well, but it's mostly because I don't have a phone in my office, so I carry off the cordless and it dies so I switch it for the other one... and sometimes it's hard to find one to answer... I have to admit my favorite phone around here is the one that ISN'T cordless, it just has a really long cord.
