Silly Blog Challenge - Show me your purse
I was chatting with Miss Chris the other day as she was showing me this cool in the forums if you do not have a blog.
You must:
1. Include your hand in the photo so we can relate to how big the purse is.
2. Dump the contents of your purse and share another photo, listing the contents of your purse. Here is my purse!
I like my purse to be small. I like the brown leather as it goes with everything as I do not like to change purses all the time.
I absolutely love the two side pockets. Having my cell phone on the side is important to me so that I can hear when the phone rings! I can turn the phone sideways and tuck it way down in the purse while shopping for better safety from shoplifters. In addition, when over my shoulder, I can tuck the pocket side underneath my armpit.
My keys are kept in the other pocket. I would just hate to have to dig for my keys and my phone all the time as I see other woman doing.
I do not know how ladies carry around those large purses. If mine is too heavy while shopping, my arm and shoulder, and eventually back, begin to hurt! Here is the contents of my purse!
1. Checkbook -- the most used item, of course.
2. Wallet -- it is that small one with the flowers on it. I have no idea why I carry it as it is ALWAYS empty. If I do put something in it. Hubby takes it out and blows it.
3. Credit card wallet - It's the small black one and I have no idea why I carry it either as I do not think I've opened it in years. The cards I do use, such as that all important Best Buy program card where they send me coupons for money off for buying things, and the Block Buster rental card, are in with the checkbook.
4. Photo Wallet - I am not sure why I have this little brown thing either. I do not remember the last time I opened it either. However, it has a few precious photos in it that are dear to me.
5. Notebook - Now this I tend to use all the time. I am not sure why I have it though as my cell phone allows me to write notes write on the screen. I guess old habits are hard to break.
6. Three pens - yep, I always have one!
7. Tide To Go pen - It's that orange thing in the photo. Yep, I confess, I ALWAYS get something on my shirt when I go out to eat.
8. Chapstick - I never use it. I guess it's in there for the one time I might use it.
9. Two pairs of tweasers - Kind of TMI (too much info) here, but I have these three hairs on my face that get really long. It seems I only feel them with my fingers when I am away from home and they drive me NUTS, so its important to have something to pluck them immediately when I first feel them. I hate them! Of course, tweasers have come in handy for a lot of other things.
10. Comb. It's there for sentimental value I guess. I do not ever remember using it, but it's been in my purse since high school, and it seems an appropriate thing to have, so it stays.
11. Clippers. Another must have. If I break a nail, it must be clipped back into shape immediately, otherwise it drives me NUTS (again).
12. Scented baby powder. Another must in the summer. I'm fat and my thighs rub together (TMI) which makes this necessary especially if I'm wearing a skirt and no hose. I also sometimes sweat on the bottom of my feet in the summer and it keeps my shoes from stinking.
13. Flashlight. It's that little green thing in the photo. Yep, it's just another thing I *think* I need, but never use. My headlights stay on for a period of time after I get out of the car. They are much brighter than that little flashlight.
14. Boy Scout gadget. Yeah, I got that black thing a long time ago and it has umpteen little tools on it. Everything from a screwdriver to a compass to a bottle opener. I do not know why I carry it either. I guess I think it *might* come in handy some day and I'll be the cool person for coming to someone's rescue. It never has happened. I'm still waiting.
15. Folding Scissors -- This have been an indisposable tool over the years. I cannot tell you how many times they have saved the day!
16. Twine -- Hmm. I think someone was about to throw this away and I thought it would make an excellent scanned and extracted digital scrapbooking element. I wonder how long its been in there.
Can you believe all that stuff I stuff in that little purse? Can you believe that my camera actually fits in my purse too! Yep, even with all that other stuff. Hence, why I was saying I do not need a camera bag!

6 WARM FUZZIES--comments SO appreciated!:
This was kind of a neat idea.
So, at least my purse is clean, now! LOL, it's actually only a couple of weeks old, so it wasn't nearly as bad as it would have been not so very long ago - it's why I have to have a small purse - I'm a slob!
Cute idea! I love small purses but they drive me insane!! lol
Well I don't have a blog, so you don't get to see my purse. It's medium size, black with all kinds of compartments and needs to be pared down (LOL). Great idea, Hummie, interesting to see what other people carry and think is essential.
You are hilarious in your description of the items in your purse. I can just imagine talking to you in person, Funny and matter of fact. My kinda person. My purse is wayyy too clean. A wallet that has the CC's and checkbook in it. A mini make-up bag ( with Soft Lips because that is a necessity), my keys and a small round brush. A pocket for the cell phone too. So so so clean. In the summer I carry sunglasses in a hard case. It sounds like alot, but its really just 3+ items. :/
How funny is this! I may have to do this on my blog. Or even in my sketchbook. I love the contents of your purse. I carry a smallish purse just so I won't collect much "stuff" in it but I always manage to do it anyway. Glad I'm not the only one!
