Chocolate Cherry Cake
I'm all for easy recipes using boxed mixes. How about you? I have not tried this, but it looks good!
Chocolate Cherry Cake
1 fudge cake mix
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tsp. almond extract
2 eggs
FROSTING
1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. margarine
1/3 c. milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Combine cake mix, pie filling, extract and eggs. Beat by hand until
well mixed. Pour into greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350
degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
FROSTING: Boil sugar, margarine and milk, stirring constantly. Remove
from heat. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
Pour over while cake is still warm.

5 WARM FUZZIES--comments SO appreciated!:
I love those recipes too! Anything with chocolate and cherries deserves a trial run anyway!! LOL
Thank you for the add...you're so speedy! ;)
Sounds yummy! TFS
! :)
My husband's grandmother makes this cake and it is so delicious! yum! I'll have to try to make it myself soon.
Hummie,
I have one question about the recipe for this cake. Do you mix the cake mix according to the package directions OR do you only mix the dry mix with the cherries etc...??
It sound great but I am a little confused on the directions.
Thanks,

I have never made it; it just sounded good, so if you make it, let me know.
I would assume you do not make it according to the box as usually the box says to only add water and eggs anyway....and the recipe calls for eggs, and the moisture from the cherry pie filling would replace any water....just my guess though.
Let me know if you make it and it's good.
