Get Feedflare!
My new TechyBuddy, Connie, is planning on blogging about Stumble Upon. I had previously blogged about Stumble Upon when I first found it. It is a great time waster! It can also be a great way to find new fun sites.
I had heard it was a great way to get hits to your blog too, but was never sucessful because I was just waiting for other people to stumble me because it just felt wrong "tooting my own horn" by stumbling myself. Connie convinced me to test it yesterday and "wow," she was right! It skyrocketed my hits and was fun to watch. So I tooted my own horn again. Giggle. It was great for getting the top digiblog rank to rise quickly, giving a false sense to visitors there that I had something great on my blog that day. I felt a little guilty--like I had cheated.
Anyway, I'm impatient, so just watch and wait for Connie's post for more details. I've also nominated her to blog about Technorati. Digiscrapper bloggers really need to get educated about these two great resources and begin using them to benefit each other.
So, what is my real purpose with this post? Well, it's to prepare you for Connie's upcoming posts!
To prepare, I would suggest that everyone check out Feedburner's Feedflare and get it into your blogs!
You will see I put it in mine last night. You will see you can easily stumble me now right from every post, as well as use the Technorati favorites. I would love to be able to stumble you too, so install this! Why? Because Mom said so! Giggle.
I like how the Technorati favorites show me that I have a trackback! However, if I understand it correctly, only those who have claimed their blogs on Technorati show up in that trackback. So get on over there and claim your blogs while you wait for Connie to teach you some more about the ins and outs and benefits of Technorati.
By the way, the "email me" in my Feedflare below is not working yet. I think I need to install a code and will update this post when I get it figured out so you all will know the answer too!
Edit #1: I've had no time to work on the e-mail techy stuff, but Meemaw pointed out to me this post by Bob Kingsley indicating that StumbleUpon limits the number of times you can stumble yourself to keep spammers from abusing the system. I am glad to read that they do that. This is all the more reason we should find buddies to stumble each other, but even with that, if we stumble our buddy to much, would they put a limit on that?

gee I did the exact thing; stumbled myself, felt awful guilty (still do) but the visits had a huge huge leap. it is still going on a little bit too, a week later. You'd think I'd stumble myself again but I haven't.
I read somewhere, on Somerset Bob, that stumbling yourself has a drawback but I can't remember what exactly.

I also have not done the email in feed flare but keep meaning to. I love how the flare will put the social bookmarks on your blog post footers.
FOUND IT!
