I do not like change!
I purchased Abbie a new bed this weekend. She is NOT happy with me. She really loved her old bed. It was just SO dirty and could not be cleaned any more and the cost of taking it to the big machines at the laundramat outweighed the purchase of a new one that would be much easier to clean.
It always amazes me how I can read Abbie's thoughts through her actions and looks.
She lays on the hardwood floor and whines at me as if I will give in and get her old bed out of the trash. She fights with me, refusing to lay in her new bed.
I cannot make her get in her new bed, but I can gently encourage her or, when frustrated, I not so gently encourage her.
I think about how God must sometimes feel the same way about us. There are times when He takes away something and provides something better for us, but we cannot see the bigger picture in how this new thing is better for us. He shuts one door and opens another and says to us, go ahead, this is better for you. He takes away the unclean things in our life to provide a new life. We hesitate and whine because we do not like change. Change is so uncomfortable, but once we adapt to the change, it becomes like home again.
God cannot make us go through a new door, but he can open it for us and encourage us to go through it. Does He ever get frustrated at us for not trusting in Him?
Dear Lord, please help me to always trust in You and the take the doors that you open for me willingly, even if less comfortable situations are through the door, I want to trust You as You know what is best for me.

2 WARM FUZZIES--comments SO appreciated!:
LOL my daughter reacts to change much the same way as your dog.
stumbled onto your blog. I enjoy your writing. I am fairly new to blogging but enjoy it...just takes so much time! I esp enjoy your transparency...who takes pictures of those awful corners of hair!
Like we don't have those things in our house! Lin
