Blending Modes
Sue Chastain is writing a new article about how blending modes work. There is always so much good information at About.com. I have previously recommended (info in the sidebar) to join her mailing list.

Thanks so much for the nice comments! I have been meaning to write this article for years, but it was a tough one to tackle. I have gotten so much good feedback today, though... I'm getting excited about finishing it!
