I love you Grandpa

My Grandpa passed away last night. I love him so much. Here's a few photos of him taken during WII. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and eventually he was removed from the field due to frozen legs.

Edit: Now that I believe most of my family and friends have read this, I have removed it from my blog for privacy. I thank everyone who took the time to comment on the blog or in private.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Grandpa. But, what a wonderful dedication to him. It is surely people like him who make the world a better place just by being in it. You also help to make it better by sharing your story and I thank you for that.

What a wonderful and inspiring letter. And what a marvelous thing for you to do for your kids. As we grow older we always wish we had known our parents and grandparents a little better, so this is a precious gift you have given your kids. And it is a wonderful way to remember a man who was obviously an extraordinary person. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy for your memories.

Your life was blessed to have such a wonderful caring grandfather. I never knew either of my four grandparents; the were all deceased by the time I was born. I have always known I missed a lot in life without them. Keep your memories alive!
